Yahoo Messenger App for the iPhone 3G

If you're a Yahoo Messenger user and iPhone owner, Yahoo! and Apple have thought of you and released the new Yahoo! Messenger application for iPhone.



The application works on iPod Touch as well.

Instant message allows you to send text messages back and forth from you iPhone or iPod with your friends, emoticons and webpage links are supported.

Photo sharing allows you to take photos on your device and send them, you can also grab photos from your photo gallery to share with your friends.

Stealth settings allows you to appear invisible while you are signed in.

Custom status message which allows you to customize your status message for your friends to see. You can even include a web link with it like a link to your blog or the latest article you read online.

Recent conversations archive which is available from the Messages menu, you can bring back you most recent conversation text with any of your contacts.

Special idle state which is specific to the iPhone/iPod app. Let's say you have to leave the application for whatever reason, like to take a call or let's say you click a link in an IM that takes you to Safari, the Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone app will keep you signed in but change your status to idle. That way you can continue to receive messages and provided you return to the app within ten minutes, pick up where you left off.
